The 2026 Andong International Maskdance Festival ran from September 24 to October 4. If you are planning a trip after those dates, its stage timetable, discounted performance tickets and special shuttle schedule are historical information. A visit to Hahoe Village, including its separately listed mask-dance performance, needs a different plan.
The distinction is easy to miss because the festival website includes Hahoe among several venues. This article separates the arrangements so that an old festival itinerary does not become the basis of a new booking. It is based on official records, not a personal visit.

The eleven-day festival was spread across several places
The organizer's 2026 overview lists Central Line 1942 Andong Station, Talchum Park, the old downtown and Hahoe Village. Its dated period is eleven days. A generic tourism description saying the festival usually runs for ten days is not the controlling schedule for this edition.
Those venue names identify different stops, not one continuous admission-controlled park. For someone comparing old travel plans, “a day at the festival” could mean downtown outdoor events, a ticketed mask-dance performance, or a trip to Hahoe. The name alone does not establish which experience the writer attended.
The original article's broad promise of a two-day route did not provide enough transport detail to execute that route. It has been replaced with the verified distinctions below. No 2027 dates or future shuttle service are inferred from the 2026 program.
Free festival access did not mean every performance was free
The official performance ticket page, retained after the event, listed general admission tickets at KRW 8,000 on site or KRW 6,000 in advance, and student tickets at KRW 6,000 on site or KRW 4,000 in advance. It also described a KRW 2,000 festival coupon.
Crucially, one ticket admitted one performance, and audiences had to leave after the performance. An advance voucher had to be exchanged at a designated festival ticket office. These conditions describe the festival's paid performance arrangement; they were not an unlimited pass for every venue or a current offer to purchase October admission.
When comparing a quoted trip budget, distinguish the ticket price, any coupon restricted to festival use, and transport costs. A coupon is not automatically a cash refund or a discount on your train home. Likewise, a free outdoor activity does not establish the price of a seated show. The useful correction is to attach each cost to the exact activity it bought.
The festival shuttle finished with the festival
The organizer's shuttle page explicitly limits operation to September 24–October 4, 2026. It connected the festival grounds, Andong's intercity terminal area and the Hahoe ticket-office or temporary shuttle stop. Its weekday and holiday schedules differed and included service breaks.
Do not reuse those departures for an October 9 or later journey. A timetable can remain visible after its service period ends. The especially important mistake would be reaching Hahoe expecting a late festival return bus that no longer operates under that timetable.
For a new trip, establish the outward and return transport for the actual date before arranging a performance-centered day. The 2026 festival shuttle is excluded from that calculation. This article does not supply an unverified replacement bus number, interval or taxi fare.
Hahoe's regular performance has its own listing
Korea Tourism Organization's Andong itinerary lists a free Hahoe Byeolsingut Tallori performance Tuesday through Sunday at 2 p.m., at the training center at 3-15 Hahoejongga-gil, Pungcheon-myeon, Andong. Its Andong feature gives the same weekly timing, but states that its information was last updated in May 2026.
That supports a regular-program lead, not confirmation that a particular future show has no cancellation or capacity restriction. The preservation society's site could not be securely accessed during this check, so same-day operation was not independently confirmed. Use the KTO page's 1330 travel-help option to ask specifically about the performance date and venue before making a dedicated journey. Free performance admission also should not be read as a promise that village entry and all nearby attractions cost nothing.
Based on these records, an overseas visitor primarily interested in Hahoe's local mask drama should investigate that regular program directly. Someone seeking the international troupes, parades and festival atmosphere needs the next officially announced festival edition. They are related cultural experiences, but they do not have interchangeable calendars or tickets.
