PLAVE's fifth mini album HYPERDRIVE is scheduled for digital release on October 12, 2026 at 18:00 KST. The physical release follows on October 13, but international buyers should look beyond that single date: Japanese Towel and PLBBUU editions have a later local release, and a manufacturing notice affects some Racer-version photocards.
As of October 9, this is still a pre-release report. An official track-list post and the new Star Trace music-video teaser are available. The earlier version of this article's claim that the track list was still awaiting reveal is no longer current. The sources below establish what has been announced; they do not establish how the finished album sounds or how it will perform commercially.
Listen on October 12; separate that from a delivery date
The date and time appear in the official teaser description and in JoyNews24's September 17 report. For international listeners, 18:00 KST on October 12 converts to:
| Location | Local release time |
|---|---|
| Seoul and Tokyo | October 12, 18:00 |
| London | October 12, 10:00 BST |
| New York | October 12, 05:00 EDT |
| Los Angeles | October 12, 02:00 PDT |
These are timezone conversions of the announced digital release, not regional storefront guarantees. Use the artist's official pre-save destination to find the music service relevant to you. A physical preorder is not required merely to listen when the music becomes available.
For Weverse Global, the preorder notice runs from September 17 at 11:00 through October 12 at 23:59 KST, subject to stock. Its October 13 release and shipping date is not a promise that every parcel arrives that day. The Racer Random product page explicitly separates dispatch from carrier delivery and asks customers to log in to check shipping availability.
Watch the official Star Trace teaser
Official video: PLAVE 'Star Trace' M/V Teaser, PLAVE 플레이브. Published October 9, 2026 in Korea. Credit: PLAVE's official YouTube channel.
The video was verified as public and embeddable on October 9. Its YouTube timestamp converts from October 8 in the displayed US offset to October 9 in Korea. The official Weverse media entry links the same video, which establishes its source more reliably than an account reposting it.
A teaser is an excerpt, not the complete music video or album. This update replaces an older-era contextual video with material directly related to HYPERDRIVE. It makes no claim of a full-album listening session. The official track-list post is also available for readers who want the announcement itself rather than fan transcriptions.
PLAVE is a five-member virtual group that debuted in 2023, according to JoyNews24's report. The virtual format does not make fan edits interchangeable with official releases. For a reader arriving through a shared clip, the useful distinction is between the artist's published material and speculation about its story.
The Japanese versions do not all arrive together
Universal Music Japan's September 17 notice lists the Racer version for October 13, but Towel and PLBBUU versions for November 18 in Japan. These are local release/delivery dates, with store arrival differences noted by the label. They should not be copied onto a Weverse Global order as if all sellers have the same timetable.
The same notice describes an 80 mm mini CD-R in Racer and Towel packaging, while PLBBUU lists a figure and a two-dimensional code card. If a playable disc is your reason for buying, examine the exact version rather than choosing by cover alone. Check that your player supports the supplied disc format.
The Weverse notice also says the STARSHARD QR code's ASTERUM outfit-claim feature is planned for early November, subject to app-store review. Buying an album does not mean that future feature is already active. A collector interested primarily in that benefit should distinguish a planned function from something available today.
Check a Racer photocard before treating it as a rare variation
In its manufacturing-error notice, VLAST reports that some BAMBY and EUNHO lenticular photocards have swapped back designs. It says roughly 10,000 early international-distribution Racer albums may contain affected cards. This is a disclosed production problem, not an announced collectible variant.
VLAST directs affected customers to the retailer where they bought the album. After verification, corrected cards are to be exchanged or resent without an additional shipping charge to the fan. Its listed retailers include Japanese outlets and hello82, 82EVENT, Target and B&N exclusives, with additional animate instructions. Read the notice for the complete scope instead of assuming every Racer copy is faulty.
Universal Music Japan's September 29 announcement confirms the issue and says the release and shipping schedule remains unchanged. Keep the order record and photograph both sides if your card is affected. That is an editorial documentation suggestion; the retailer's eventual support instructions control the required evidence.
For listeners, the next meaningful milestone is the full digital release. For collectors, it is the exact version, regional delivery date and any applicable replacement process. Neither decision requires predicting chart success or buying multiple copies to secure a random inclusion.
