A one-way cable-car ticket can look economical until you remember where you left your car. In Mokpo, the choice is not just between an ordinary floor and a transparent one. It is also between finishing where you started and arranging a separate journey from the other end.

Start with that return decision, then compare cabin prices. The figures below are published adult base fares checked on October 7, 2026, against tourism and municipal information. They are useful for planning, while discounts, operating interruptions and the day's boarding arrangements still require the operator's confirmation.
Three station names explain the journey
The Korea Tourism Organization listing describes the route from Bukhang, or North Port, via Yudalsan to Gohado. Its stated length is 3.23 kilometers, with an approximately 40-minute round trip. Those figures describe the cable-car journey, not a whole outing with queues and sightseeing.
For the North Port approach, the listing gives 240 Haeyangdaehak-ro, Mokpo. Search for 북항승강장 together with the attraction name when arranging a ride there. “Mokpo cable car” alone is less precise than naming the terminal, especially when discussing pickup after your visit.
Gohado is a destination to explore after leaving the cabin, rather than an attraction you have fully visited just by reaching the station. KTO's February 2026 itinerary estimates a further walk of about 15 minutes toward its viewpoint. Treat that as a walking estimate for the described route, not an accessibility promise or a fixed appointment time.

Compare adult base fares before comparing discounts
Mokpo City's notice updated September 14, 2026 and KTO's attraction listing agree on these adult fares: standard cabin, 19,000 won one way or 24,000 won round trip; crystal cabin, 22,000 won one way or 29,000 won round trip. This comparison deliberately covers the undiscounted adult choice. Families should verify the relevant child category and any required age documentation separately.
The round-trip crystal premium is 5,000 won per adult over standard. For two adults it adds 10,000 won to the pair's cable-car cost. That is the price difference to assess against your interest in the transparent floor, not against an assumed difference in the route.
Buying two separate one-way tickets at those published base prices would total 38,000 won in standard or 44,000 won in crystal. Compared with the corresponding round-trip fare, that is 14,000 won or 15,000 won more. This arithmetic does not establish a same-day upgrade policy; ask before assuming an initial one-way purchase can later be converted cheaply.

Choose crystal for the floor, not for a different destination
KTO describes the crystal cabin's transparent floor. If looking down through it is the experience you want, the premium has a clear purpose. If someone in your group dislikes that sensation, paying more may reduce their enjoyment rather than improve it.
A standard cabin still follows the attraction's scenic route. Choosing it is a coherent preference for the surroundings without the additional floor experience. Discuss that preference before reaching the ticket counter, particularly when traveling with someone who feels pressured to join the more adventurous option.
A return ticket answers a location question
If your car, luggage pickup or next arranged meeting remains at the starting side, build the return into the purchase. A one-way ticket makes sense when the far end is genuinely where the next part of your journey begins and the onward transport has been arranged.
Do not treat Yudalsan as an unlimited transfer point. The city's detailed attraction description explains directional one-way tickets and restrictions on ending early or changing direction. Because that page has an old publication date without a clear date for later edits, use it as a reason to ask a precise ticket question, not as a guarantee of current refund terms.
The useful question is: “For this ticket, where can we finish, and what happens if we leave at the intermediate station?” Show the intended destination while asking. A discussion about one-way travel is more productive when everyone means the same direction.

Read the operating notice for the correct date
The September city notice also contains September 24–27 holiday hours. Those dates have passed. They should not be copied into an October itinerary simply because the page remains online. The operator website did not respond during this verification, so this article does not certify October 7 opening or closing hours.
KTO says ticket sales end one hour before closing and warns that weather can change operations. Before a special journey, contact the published attraction number, +82-61-244-2600, for that day's operation and last boarding arrangements. A sunset photograph is not evidence that a late departure will be available.
Choose a clear daylight period if understanding the coastline matters more than a particular lighting effect. That is an editorial preference, not a weather forecast. When visibility is poor, compare the value of the ride with postponing it; the fare buys transportation, not guaranteed distant views.
Accessibility concerns extend beyond the cabin door
The city's project description identifies wide doors and provision for wheelchairs and strollers. That is useful design information, but boarding assistance and the suitability of an onward walking route remain separate questions.
Explain the mobility device and the intended station activity when asking for assistance. A visitor planning only the ride has different needs from someone adding a viewpoint walk. Avoid agreeing to an extended island outing before establishing the surfaces, gradients and assistance available for that specific plan.

If the aerial trip is unavailable
Keep the rest of the day workable without the cable car. A meal or indoor break in the part of Mokpo where you are staying can replace the excursion without creating another long transfer. If you already bought a ticket, follow the seller's cancellation procedure and retain the purchase record; do not assume the policy for an operator cancellation matches a personal change of mind.
A useful fallback preserves the purpose of the day. If you wanted coastal scenery, wait for clearer conditions. If you mainly wanted time together, remove the disputed cabin choice and choose an activity everyone can enjoy. Neither requires pretending a closed attraction is still part of a successful itinerary.
Ticket questions worth settling
Is a one-way fare half the round-trip fare?
No. The published adult figures make two separate one-way purchases substantially more expensive than a return ticket.
Does crystal mean a different route?
The verified distinction is the transparent floor. Do not buy it expecting an additional destination.
Can the 40-minute figure cover the whole visit?
No. It describes the approximate round-trip ride, excluding your queues and time away from the cabin.
Are September holiday hours valid for an October visit?
No. Check the notice for your actual date; the cited holiday window has ended.
Can a discounted offer replace checking the ticket direction?
No. A cheaper ticket for the wrong direction or cabin still fails to meet your plan. Establish the product first, then compare eligible offers.
