Why 16 tracks does not mean 16 new songs

The title links 2+8 to his solo decade and 2x8 to INFINITE's 16th anniversary. “EVERYDAY” originated as a CD-only hidden track on 2016's Write... “소년소녀 (Feat. 인피니트)” was pre-released in May. Returning fans may therefore recognize material; newcomers can use these tracks as connections to his earlier solo work and group. Track notes

Two ways into DEVIL

The label's notes frame “DEVIL” around dangerous romantic attraction. Track description In his October 13 interview, Woohyun discussed good and evil and struggles within himself. That supplies a second lens: temptation can involve an internal conflict, not only another person. These are complementary contexts offered by the label and artist, rather than competing verdicts on the song. Artist interview

For someone drawn to the title's darker suggestion, the interview adds a useful question to bring to listening: how might desire and self-conflict relate? It does not settle the answer for you. This is an explanation of documented intentions, not a listening review or a line-by-line interpretation of the lyrics.

The writer and the voice

Woohyun also described a practical creative tension: as a singer he wanted an easier vocal range, while as a producer he resisted making that concession. His account makes the challenge specific: the person designing the vocal demands must also perform them. Artist interview

That personal involvement still includes collaboration: “DEVIL” credits both Woohyun and Jaejong Kim for composition and arrangement. Credits
